The Pediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) course, organized by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills to manage and treat pediatric patients in emergency situations. This course is ideal for those who need to develop their skills beyond basic life support but do not require advanced training.

The PILS course is a one-day program that includes a combination of lectures, practical skill stations, and simulations. Candidates receive a manual two weeks before the course to prepare. The course concludes with continuous assessment of skills throughout the day.

Participants will learn to:

• Understand the ABCDE approach that facilitates rapid recognition of seriously ill children.
• Provide appropriate initial treatment interventions to prevent cardiorespiratory arrest.
• Treat children in respiratory or cardiorespiratory arrest until the arrival of a resuscitation team or more experienced assistance.
• Become effective team members who can respond appropriately in emergency situations.

• The course is intended for doctors, nurses, paramedics, midwives, physiotherapists, dentists, medical and nursing students, and other healthcare professionals who may be involved in pediatric emergencies.

• Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate valid for one year. This certification is recognized across Europe, allowing healthcare professionals to save young lives in many parts of the world.
